The Transit Terminal is a 12 min walk from The Hostel. All major coach companies service the Transit Centre, including Greyhound & Premier. Keep an eye open for our bus at the terminal, if you have a booking with us we can give you a ride back to The Hostel.

This old girl’s been knocking around as a hostel for decades. She’s copped a cyclone or two, seen more owners than she can remember but has consistently and happily welcomed guests from all over the world looking to explore beautiful Airlie Beach.
We picked her up from the YHA during COVID and have been slowly giving her a bit of TLC. Right now, we’re tackling the less sexy stuff—new mattresses, mattress covers, pillows (cause no one wants to sleep on an old hostel mattress!!), air-cons, updated electricals, better Wi-Fi, a splash of paint, and a bit of solar to keep things humming. Not exactly headline-grabbing, but it means a comfier stay all round. Don’t worry though, we’ve got some fun upgrades up our sleeve in the near future.
We like to say we’re proudly boring—and we mean that in the best way. If Airlie Beach is where you send it, we’re where you come back to crash. Whether you’re dusting yourself off after a big night or recharging after a solid stint out on the reef, we’ve got you sorted for a decent kip (Aussie slang for sleep).
